Account Types

Account types define the roles that exist in your supply chain network - producer, distributor, retailer, agent, or anything else your business needs.

Where to Find It

Navigate to Data Master from the sidebar. The page is titled Account Types.

Account types are not a fixed list. Vintaflow ships without assuming your network shape, so the types you see are the ones your organisation has defined here.

What an Account Type Controls

Each account type carries:

  • A Name - how the type appears throughout the application
  • A Colour - used to tint the type's badge and cards so it is recognisable at a glance
  • A Role - the permission set granted to accounts of this type

The colour and name appear anywhere accounts are listed or filtered, including Supply Chain Management and Reports.

Viewing Account Types

Account types are shown as cards. Each card displays the type name, its colour swatch and hex code, the role attached to it, the internal ID, and the date it was created.

Creating an Account Type

  1. Go to Data Master
  2. Click the New Account Type card
  3. Enter a Name - for example, Agent
  4. Pick a Colour Code using the colour picker. The hex value is shown beside it
  5. Choose the Role that accounts of this type should receive
  6. Click Create

Editing an Account Type

  1. Hover over the account type card
  2. Click the pencil icon
  3. Update the name, colour, or role
  4. Click Save

Changing the role on an account type changes what every account of that type can do. Review the role before saving.

Deleting an Account Type

  1. Hover over the card and click the trash icon
  2. Confirm in the dialog

Deletion is irreversible. Move accounts to another type before deleting the type they belong to.

Permissions

Viewing this page requires the Read Account Type permission. Creating, updating, and deleting each require their own permission, and the corresponding buttons are hidden if you do not have them.
