Shipment Tracking

Track shipments live on a 3D globe, with vessel positions, port activity, weather, and voyage history.

Where to Find It

Navigate to Reports and open the Shipments tab.

The Globe

Shipments are drawn on an interactive globe. Drag to rotate, scroll to zoom, and use the tilt control to switch between an overhead and an angled view.

Layers

Toggle layers on and off from the panel on the right:

Layer

Shows

Ocean Depth

Seafloor relief - shelves, ridges, and abyssal plains

Graticule

Latitude and longitude reference grid

Routes

Voyage tracks, split into covered and remaining

Direction Arrows

Chevrons showing which way each shipment travels

Vessels

Current position of each shipment

Ports

Port nodes, clustered when zoomed out

Port Volume

3D columns sized by shipments through each port

Dwell Alerts

Rings where containers sat for more than 5 days

Vessel History

Reported position history of the selected vessel

Congestion

Density of reported milestone events

Day / Night

Live solar terminator overlay

Turn most layers off when you are looking for one thing. Routes plus Vessels alone is the clearest way to answer "where is this shipment".

Finding a Shipment

Use the search box to jump straight to a shipment, vessel, or port.

Shipment Details

Select a vessel to open its detail panel:

Dates

  • Requested - the delivery date originally asked for
  • Expected - the current expected date
  • Carrier ETA - the carrier's own estimate
  • Arrived / Delivered - actuals once they happen

Vessel and Route

  • Carrier and Call Sign
  • Seller
  • Ships From and Ships To

Weather

Current conditions along the route, including air temperature, rainfall, and snowfall.

Vessel View

Click Vessel View to fly down to sea level on the selected vessel. Click Leave Vessel View to return to the route overview.

Replay

Use the scrubber along the bottom of the globe to replay shipment movement over time, so you can see how a delay developed rather than only where things stand now.

Stale Tracking

If a shipment's tracking has not refreshed in over a day, the panel flags it.

Stale tracking means the position shown is old, not that the shipment has stopped. Confirm with the carrier before acting on it.

Dwell Alerts

Rings mark ports where containers have sat for more than five days. These are the places to look first when investigating a late delivery.
