Inventory Page User Guide


Overview

The Inventory page provides comprehensive inventory management capabilities for tracking product stock levels, forecasting, and managing warehouse inventory across different time periods.


Key Features


1. Warehouse Selection

  • Purpose: Choose which warehouse to view inventory for
  • Location: Top of the page, dropdown selector
  • Usage: Select a warehouse from the dropdown to filter inventory data
  • Note: Must select a warehouse before viewing inventory data


2. Product Search & Filtering

  • Search Bar: Real-time search across product names and descriptions
  • Advanced Filters: Access via filter icon (🔍) to apply complex filtering
  • Filter Options:
  • Status: Filter by Active, Inactive, or other inventory statuses
  • Sort By: Choose from available columns (ID, Product, On Hand, etc.)
  • Order: Ascending or Descending
  • Forecast Date: Filter by specific dates or date ranges
  • Created Date: Filter by creation dates or date ranges


3. Inventory Table View

The main table displays inventory data with the following key columns:


Core Columns

  • ID: Unique product identifier
  • SKU: Stock Keeping Unit
  • Product: Product name and description
  • On Hand: Current inventory quantity
  • Variants: Number of product variants


Inventory Metrics

  • MOQ: Minimum Order Quantity
  • RP: Reorder Point
  • TCP: Target Cycle Period
  • MCP: Maximum Cycle Period
  • SSM: Safety Stock Multiplier


Date Fields

  • Last Inbound: Date of last stock received
  • Next Inbound: Expected next stock arrival
  • Next Out of Stock: Predicted stock depletion date
  • Next Order Date: Recommended next order date


4. Column Management

  • Customizable Columns: Show/hide columns based on your needs
  • Frozen Columns: Key columns (ID, SKU, Product, On Hand) remain visible when scrolling
  • Column Widths: Automatically optimized for different screen sizes


5. Product Detail View

Click on any product to access detailed inventory information:


Week-by-Week Table

  • Historical Data: Past inventory levels (gray background)
  • Reconciled Data: Verified historical data (blue background)
  • Current Week: Present week data (highlighted)
  • Forecasted Data: Future predictions (green background)


Interactive Features

  • Scroll Navigation: Navigate through weeks using arrow buttons
  • Current Week Toggle: Jump to current week quickly
  • Data Editing: Click on values to edit (where permissions allow)


Inventory Charts

  • Inventory Levels Chart: Visual representation of stock over time
  • Time Range Selection: Choose custom date ranges for analysis
  • Toggle Indicators: Show/hide different data series:
  • Historical, Reconciled, Forecasted (bar chart)
  • Inbound, Outbound, Weeks of Inventory (line chart)


6. Inventory Alerts

  • Alert Types: Various inventory warnings and recommendations
  • Status Management: View pending or resolved alerts
  • Product-Specific: Alerts filtered by selected product
  • Actions: Resolve alerts or create recommended orders


7. Data Management Actions


Available Actions (Permission Dependent)

  • Create: Add new inventory entries
  • Update: Modify existing inventory data
  • Delete: Remove inventory entries
  • Edit Forecast Override: Adjust forecasted values


Bulk Operations

  • Multi-Select: Select multiple products for batch operations
  • Export: Download inventory data (if available)


8. Pagination & Navigation

  • Page Size: Adjust number of items per page
  • Navigation: Previous/Next page buttons
  • Page Numbers: Direct navigation to specific pages
  • Total Count: View total number of inventory items


Usage Workflow


Basic Inventory Review

  1. Select a warehouse from the dropdown
  2. Review the inventory table for current stock levels
  3. Use search to find specific products
  4. Click on a product for detailed week-by-week analysis


Advanced Filtering

  1. Click the filter icon (🔍) to open advanced filters
  2. Set your filtering criteria (status, dates, sorting)
  3. Click "Apply" to filter results
  4. Use "Reset" to clear all filters


Product Analysis

  1. Click on any product in the table
  2. Review the week-by-week breakdown
  3. Use the charts to visualize trends
  4. Check alerts for recommendations
  5. Edit values if you have permission


Inventory Forecasting

  1. Navigate to the forecasted weeks (green background)
  2. Review predicted inventory levels
  3. Adjust forecast overrides if needed
  4. Monitor next order dates and out-of-stock predictions


Tips & Best Practices


Navigation

  • Use frozen columns to keep important data visible while scrolling
  • Utilize the search function for quick product lookup
  • Save frequently used filter combinations


Data Analysis

  • Compare historical vs forecasted data to validate predictions
  • Pay attention to inventory alerts for proactive management
  • Use charts to identify trends and patterns


Permissions

  • Available actions depend on your user permissions
  • Contact your administrator if you need additional access
  • Some features may be read-only based on your role


Troubleshooting


Common Issues

  • No Data Shown: Ensure a warehouse is selected
  • Missing Columns: Check column visibility settings
  • Can't Edit: Verify you have update permissions
  • Slow Loading: Try reducing the number of visible columns or applying filters

  • Enter: Apply search or confirm edits
