# Consolidation Groups

Group related orders or products together so they can be planned, tracked, and shipped as a single unit.

## What a Consolidation Group Is

A consolidation group is a named collection of records. Vintaflow supports two kinds:

| Group Type | Contains | Typical Use |
|------------|----------|-------------|
| **Order Group** | Orders | Combining several orders into one shipment or container |
| **Product Group** | Products | Bundling products that are always ordered or produced together |

Grouping is non-destructive. Adding an order to a group does not change the order itself, and deleting a group leaves every member record intact.

## Viewing Consolidation Groups

1. Navigate to **Consolidations** from the sidebar
2. Choose the **Orders** or **Products** tab

The list shows:

* **Name** - The group identifier
* **Entities** - How many records are in the group
* **Created Date**
* **Created By**

Use **Select Columns** to show or hide columns. Your choice is saved for next time.

## Creating an Order Group

1. Go to **Consolidations** and select the **Orders** tab
2. Click **Add Group**
3. Enter an **Identifier** (required) - for example, `West Coast Shipment`

| Click the circular arrows icon inside the Identifier field to generate a random code such as `GRP-4X8B2`.

4. In the **Entities** field, search by order number to find orders for this account
5. Select each order you want to include - a coloured status badge shows its current state
6. Selected orders appear below as removable pills. Click the **X** on any pill to drop it
7. Click **Create**

## Creating a Product Group

The steps are identical, but start from the **Products** tab and search for products instead of orders.

## Group Details

Click a group to open its detail view.

### Order Groups

Summary tiles across the top show:

* **Total Orders**
* **Total Item Quantity**
* **Damaged Quantity** - highlighted when greater than zero
* **Distinct Warehouses**

Below the tiles you will find a status breakdown, then:

* **Delivery Timeline** - when each member order is due to arrive
* **Trade Route Map** - buyer warehouses, seller warehouses, and the trade routes between them. Use the theme button to change the map style
* **Member Orders** - a card for each order, with its line items

Use the arrows beside the group name to move to the **Previous Group** or **Next Group** without returning to the list.

### Product Groups

Product groups show **Total Products** and **Distinct Producers**, followed by the **Member Products** list.

## Editing a Group

1. Open the group
2. Click **Edit**
3. Change the identifier, or add and remove entities
4. Click **Save**

## Deleting a Group

1. Open the group and click **Delete**
2. Confirm in the dialog

|| Deleting a group removes only the grouping. The orders or products inside it are not deleted.

## Consolidation Groups in Imports

Both the product and order import templates accept an optional `consolidation_group` column, so you can assign records to groups during a bulk upload instead of building the group by hand. See [Import Data](https://help.vintaflow.com/en/article/import-data-o8ruh9/).

## Filtering and Exporting

* Click **Filters** to filter by member records, date range, and sort order. The button shows a count of active filters
* Click **Export** to download the group list as CSV or Excel

## Permissions

Consolidations require the **Read Consolidation Group** permission. Creating, editing, and deleting each require their own permission. If you cannot see the Consolidations item in the sidebar, ask your administrator to review your role.
