# Add Products to a Warehouse

Learn how to add products to a warehouse's inventory in Vintaflow.

## Overview

Before you can track stock or fulfil orders, products must be assigned to a warehouse. Doing so creates the inventory record that holds quantities, planning parameters, and the forecast.

## Opening the Dialog

### From the Warehouses List

1. Navigate to **Warehouses**
2. Find the warehouse
3. Click the **Add Products** icon on its row

### From Warehouse Details

1. Open the warehouse
2. Click **Add Products** in the products section

## Step 1: Select Products

1. Use **Search for existing products** to find products by name or UPC
2. Click to select - you can add several at once
3. Selected products appear below with their own configuration panel

## Step 2: Configure Each Product

### Identity and Stock

* **SKU** - click the refresh icon to auto-generate one
* **Quantity** - the opening stock figure

### Planning Parameters

These drive reorder recommendations and inventory alerts:

| Parameter | Meaning |
|-----------|---------|
| **Minimum Order Quantity** | The smallest order that can be placed for this product |
| **SSM** | Safety Stock Multiplier - how much buffer to hold |
| **TCP** | Target Coverage Period, also called the review period |
| **MCP** | Maximum Coverage Period - above this, the product is flagged as overstock |

### Forecast Window

* **Forecast Start Date** and **Forecast End Date** - the period the forecast should cover

|| Planning parameters can be changed later from the inventory record, so sensible starting values are enough to get going.

### Variants

If the product is tracked by size, colour, or another attribute:

1. Tick **Has Variants**
2. Click **Add Variant** for each one
3. For each variant, enter the **Name**, **Value**, **SKU**, and **Quantity**

## Step 3: Submit

1. Review the configuration for each product
2. Click **Add**

The products now appear in the warehouse's inventory.

## Removing Products

* **Before saving** - click **Remove** next to the product entry in the dialog
* **After saving** - open the warehouse, find the product, and use the delete option if you have permission

## Bulk Alternative

To set up many products at once, import them instead of adding them by hand. See [Import Data](https://help.vintaflow.com/en/article/import-data-o8ruh9/).

## Tips

* Opening quantity should match your actual physical stock
* Set MOQ accurately - reorder recommendations depend on it
* Configure variants up front if you track stock at that level; adding them later means reworking the record
* Once products are in, choose a forecasting model for each - see [Inventory Forecasting](https://help.vintaflow.com/en/article/inventory-forecasting-d9yvhc/)
